Bitcoin, abbreviation: BTC

This cryptocurrency was standardized in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym used by the person(s) who developed the idea for a new electronic currency. Its name comes from the English "bit" (a unit of binary information) and "coin" (a coin). The first Bitcoin transaction was made by an American engineer in 2010 for the purchase of two pizzas.
