From 500 to Zero Euros!

The euro, the single currency of the Eurozone, entered circulation on January 1, 2022. Since 2019, the issuance of 500 euro banknotes has been suspended, but this denomination retains its value and can be exchanged at the counters of various national banks. There is a zero euro banknote, manufactured by a French company and approved by the European Central Bank, for collectors.
