Paris covers an area of ​​87 km² within the city walls and 105 km² including the Bois de Boulogne and Vincennes, annexed in 1929. The first line of the Parisian network, Line 1, opened in 1900 for the Universal Exhibition and runs 10.1 km from Porte Maillot to Porte de Vincennes. The 15th arrondissement is the largest in the city and the 2nd arrondissement is the smallest.
